The game was released worldwide for Microsoft Windows, OS X, Linux on 10 March 2015. The backstory of other characters are also focused on heavily. It takes place before, during and after the events of Hotline Miami, focusing on the backstory and aftermath of the previous protagonist, Jacket, after massacring the Russian mafia at the behest of anonymous tips left by his answering machine.
